The club was set up in 2004 by a committee of parents at Didsbury C of E Primary.
EGKC is a limited company and operates on a not for profit basis and as a charity.
A voluntary committee of parents manage this provision and their children attend the club regularly.
The club is able to offer an assisted place scheme to families who need our support due to our charitable status.
The club is run on a day to day basis by Lisa Burns, Club Manager, and Jenni Collins, Deputy Manager, and a team of qualified playworkers.
In addition, the staff at the club all work within the school, either as lunchtime organisers or support teaching assistants and therefore get to know the children really well.
The staff team are all trained in Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding, Food Hygiene and Food Allergens. The majority of the staff also have a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Playwork or Childcare.
The club works closely and sensitively with the Headteacher and all the school staff.
Over half the children at our school are registered and attend EGKC on a permanent or ad-hoc basis.
EGKC was awarded ‘Outstanding in all areas’ by OFSTED in May 2015.
